Nieuwenhuis Farmstead Cheese are specialist artisan cheese makers that use milk straight from thier own farm to produce authentic, handcrafted goat’s cheese. Annie and Geoff Nieuwenhuis met at university, chose a rural lifestyle in the beautiful Hawke’s Bay region and farmed the land. Together they embarked on a mission to make the best quality artisan cheese they could. This starts with the grass they grow through to how they care for their goats, all to ensure that the hand-crafted small batch cheeses they create have unique characteristics.
Single farm origin milk, and owner operated, Origin Earch is based in Hawke’s Bay. It is a producer that prides itself on organic, sustainable and rich farm practice. With over 45 000 dairy cows in Hawke’s Bay it is astounding to know that Origin Earth is able to trace the milk they use back to the farm and even the cow who provided it. Once the milk has been collected by the Origin Earth staff, it is then crafted into a variety of cream cheese, fetas, ricottas and haloumis by using traditional cheese making techniques and minimal handling of the farm fresh, raw milk.
