Whether hand roasted, drum roasted, locally sourced or cafe brewed - the key to Hawkes Bay artisan coffee making is unlocking the flavour and personality of each bean. Artisan coffee makers in Hawkes Bay have one thing in common: producing high quality coffee in every brew for a range of coffee types.
Aurum Coffee was established in 2007 in the beautiful Hawke’s Bay region of New Zealand. The Aurum brand had gained a loyal following and a reputation for the finest coffee around until 2011 when the original owners had to close their doors. It was then that Chel Adams decided that this was a brand that was too good to lose and re-opened the shop. Since then Aurum Coffee has continued on their journey to creating mouth-watering coffee blends and has gone from roasting a modest 250 kilograms of coffee beans per month to an astounding ton or more. With the Aurum coffee roasts travelling as far as Australia and abroad and now accompanying a new variety of tea blends on the shelves – it is clear that this is one venture that showcases the importance of all-natural, artisan coffee and teas as well as a passion for the little pleasures of life.
